The company

Fifty years of building things that work

Meridian was founded in the Ruhrgebiet in 1971, engineering machinery for the region's manufacturers. We still build here — and now our plants run on production floors around the world.

What sets us apart is single-source responsibility. Mechanical, electrical and control engineering sit in the same building, so nobody points across a gap when a line needs to run. One project lead carries your plant from concept to commissioning.

And because a plant is a thirty-year investment, we are still there decades later — with the spare parts, the maintenance and the engineers who know your machine by name.

How a project runs

A disciplined path to a running line

Every plant follows the same rigorous stages — so there are no gaps between design intent and what gets built.

  1. PHASE 01

    Study

We assess your process, constraints and targets, and deliver a feasibility study with a costed concept.

  2. PHASE 02

    Engineer

Mechanical, electrical and control engineering produce a fixed, documented scope you sign off before we build.

  3. PHASE 03

    Build

We manufacture, assemble and factory-test the plant, then install it on site to plan.

  4. PHASE 04

    Commission

We commission, validate to spec, train your operators and hand over — then stay on for service.

Manufacturers who rely on our lines

REF • 01
Meridian delivered a turnkey line six weeks early and hit the throughput number on day one. In plant engineering, that simply does not happen — except it did.
Dr. Werner Kloss Plant Director, Rheinstahl Components
REF • 02
When our decade-old line needed more capacity, they retrofitted it over a shutdown instead of selling us a new one. That is the kind of honesty you keep a supplier for.
Anja Feldmann Head of Operations, BeckerPack
REF • 03
The 24/7 service is the real product. A control fault at 3 a.m. was diagnosed remotely and fixed before the morning shift clocked in.
Marco Rossi Maintenance Manager, Lombardia Steel

Questions

What engineering teams ask us

Do you deliver turnkey, or only parts of a plant?

Both. We can take single-source responsibility for a complete turnkey plant — mechanical, electrical and control — or slot into an existing project for a defined scope such as automation or safety engineering.

Which standards do you build to?

We work to ISO 9001 quality management and deliver full CE conformity under the Machinery Directive, including risk assessment and Performance-Level-rated safety functions. Documentation is handed over complete.

Can you modernise an existing line instead of replacing it?

Very often, yes. A retrofit — new controls, safety and drives on sound mechanics — can raise output and meet current standards at a fraction of the cost and downtime of a new line. We will tell you honestly which makes sense.

What does service look like after commissioning?

Preventive maintenance to a fixed schedule, genuine spare parts held for your machine, remote diagnostics, and a 24/7 breakdown hotline. Plants under contract average 99.4% availability.

How long does a plant project take?

It depends on scope, but a typical production line runs 6–12 months from signed concept to commissioning. The feasibility study up front gives you a firm timeline and budget before you commit.
