Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the apps published by KSol.IT, unless the app you are using refers you to a different policy of its own. In that case, the policy named in the app takes precedence over this one.
The principle behind all of our apps is the same. There are no accounts with us, no servers of ours, and no analytics of our own. Where an app connects to something, it connects to a service you chose and configured yourself. We never receive your content, your credentials, or a record that you used the app.

Under the GDPR we are neither the controller nor a processor of the content you work with through our apps. That content lives on the devices and services you use the app with, and whoever operates those services is its controller.
What an app stores on your device
Exactly which of these apply depends on what the app does, but the pattern is always the same: it stays on the device.

All of it stays on the device. None of it is copied to us or to any third party. Deleting the app removes its storage and its preferences, and the keychain or keystore entries go with it.
Logs are yours. If an app offers to share a log with us, that is an action you take deliberately, you can read the log first, and nothing is sent unless you send it.
What leaves your device, and where it goes
Our apps talk only to destinations you choose:
The services you configure. Servers, gateways and endpoints you entered yourself. Requests go to the address you typed, over an encrypted connection where the service supports one. Your credentials go to that service so that it can authenticate you, and nowhere else.
Your identity provider, if you use external sign-in. Where a service is configured for an external or single sign-on login, the app opens that provider's own login page so you can sign in there. The app waits only for the callback that ends the login.

There is no further destination. Our apps contain no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service and no telemetry of ours. They do not use the advertising identifier, and they do not track you across apps or websites.
Purchases
Where an app offers paid features, the purchase is made with Apple or with Google, not with us. The store handles the payment, holds the payment details, and tells the app whether a valid purchase exists. We receive no payment data, no name, no address and no e-mail address from that process, and we cannot connect a purchase to a person.
To check whether your purchase is still valid, the app asks the store on your device. That request goes to Apple or Google under their own privacy policies, and carries no content of yours.
Artificial intelligence
Our apps do not send your content to any AI service — not ours, not anyone else's. Where an app offers a writing or assistance feature, it is stated in the app, it runs on the device using the operating system's own on-device model, and this policy will say so before the version that introduces it ships.
What Apple and Google see
If you download an app from the App Store or from Google Play, Apple or Google records that download or purchase under its own privacy policy. They may pass us aggregated, anonymised statistics — how many downloads, in which countries, which app versions — and anonymised crash reports if you have opted into sharing diagnostics with developers. We cannot identify you from any of it, and we do not try to.
Children
Our apps are professional tools and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to give you, correct or erase. Requests concerning content stored on a service you connect to should go to whoever operates that service. Data the app keeps on your device sits in the app's own container and goes away when you delete the app.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In our case that is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
If you write to us
If you send us an e-mail, we process what you wrote and your address in order to answer you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries, and in performing a contract where your message concerns one (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR). We keep support correspondence only as long as it is useful for the matter at hand and for as long as the law requires us to.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes are also mentioned in the release notes of the version they apply to.
